Description
Are you looking for a role where you are driven by purpose while taking a hands-on approach to environmental sustainability?
The Royal Flying Doctor Service (Queensland Section) is seeking an Environment and Safety Advisor to help drive sustainable practices and support workplace safety across the organisation.
In this position, you will advise and support workplace safety, environmental sustainability and climate-related initiatives, while helping deliver programs, monitor performance and ensure compliance. You will measure and report the organisation's carbon footprint and greenhouse gas emissions, support carbon reduction initiatives and embed sustainability practices into everyday operations. This is a fantastic opportunity to further develop your environmental career, gain exposure to sustainability, workplace health and safety (WHS), reporting and auditing, and work within a small, supportive team in a well-respected, purpose-driven organisation.

As our Environment and Safety Advisor, you will:
- Lead carbon footprint reporting and sustainability initiatives
- Support carbon reduction projects and environmental compliance
- Provide advice and support on environmental and WHS matters
- Assist with injury management and return-to-work activities
- Coordinate WHSE committee meetings and related reporting
- Manage WHS administration, records and reporting
- Prepare environmental and safety performance data and reports
- Support audits, compliance activities and continuous improvement
- Maintain environmental systems and sustainability programs
- Occasionally travel to sites across Queensland
Our Environment and Safety Advisor will have:
- A qualification in Environmental Management and Sustainability
- Demonstrated ability to provide advice and guidance to managers and leaders on environment and workplace health and safety matters
- Comprehensive knowledge of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 certification
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage a range of internal and external stakeholders and influence desired outcomes
