Description
The Royal Flying Doctor Service (Queensland Section) (RFDS) is seeking an experienced Health Information Analyst to join our Virtual & Digital Health team on a full-time, 12-month contract.
Reporting to the Health Information Manager, you will play a pivotal role in transforming health data into meaningful insights that support evidence-based decision-making, service improvement, and better health outcomes across rural and remote Queensland communities.
Working across Clinical Service Delivery, you will lead the ongoing refinement and reporting of the RFDS Queensland Social Impact Framework, while ensuring health information is accurate, consistent, compliant, and fit for purpose. You will also contribute to health information governance, data quality initiatives, monitoring and evaluation activities, and the delivery of strategic insights that inform organisational planning and performance.

Key Responsibilities
- Deliver social impact reporting and monitoring for Clinical Service Delivery
- Analyse and interpret health data to support evidence-based decision-making
- Maintain health data standards, governance frameworks, and reporting requirements
- Lead data quality, integrity, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Provide stakeholder insights, training, and support to improve health outcomes and service performance.
A collaborative, detail-oriented professional with a passion for using health information to improve health outcomes. You thrive in multidisciplinary teams and have a strong understanding of health care service delivery in Australia.
With a positive and proactive approach, you will also have:
- Tertiary qualifications in Public Health, Health Information Management, Data Analytics, Health Sciences or related discipline
- 5–7 years’ relevant experience
- Strong skills in interpreting qualitive and quantitative data
- Proficiency in statistical and thematic analysis, data visualisation tools (e.g., Power BI)
- Knowledge of data governance frameworks, metadata management, and compliance with legislation
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Certified Health Informatician Australasia (CHIA)
- Awareness of rural and remote health contexts.
