Two healthcare professionals from the Royal Flying Doctor Service SA/NT (RFDS) have been recognised for their exceptional service at the South Australian Nursing and Midwifery Excellence Awards 2026.
Community Midwife Caitlyn Reid was announced winner of the ‘Excellence in Practice – Midwife’ category at the Gala Dinner held on 8 May. While Kylie Pellizzari was recognised as finalist in the ‘Excellence’ in Education’ category for her work as Clinical Education Manager at the RFDS.
Now in their 25th year, the SA Nursing and Midwifery Excellence Awards celebrate the dedication, expertise, and compassion of nursing and midwifery professionals across various sectors in South Australia.
Keirstie Bull, RFDS Executive General Manager Primary Health Care, Nursing & Midwifery, said the recognition is a wonderful reminder of the calibre of people working at the RFDS and the vital role that our nurses and midwives play.
“Seeing two of our own acknowledged in such a strong field is such an incredible achievement and speaks volumes about the compassion, professional and dedication they bring to their roles every day.
“It was also especially exciting to see Caitlyn take home a win – well-deserved recognition of the impact she continues to make through her care, leadership and commitment to our patients and communities,” Keirstie said.
“On the eve of International Nurses Day, we congratulate Caitlyn and Kylie and extend our sincerest thanks to the incredible nurses that make up more than a quarter of our workforce.”
