The Australian Wagyu Association raised vital funds for the Royal Flying Doctor Service

Every year at the Australian Wagyu Association’s (AWA) annual conference, they hold an exciting charity auction, with half of the proceeds going directly to the Flying Doctor. 

The AWA, which is an organisation committed to supporting, promoting and advancing premium Wagyu production, is also dedicated to supporting rural Australian communities to thrive. 

Over the past 16 years, the AWA has raised more than $380,000 for the different sections of RFDS, with each yearly donation going to the section in which the conference is held. 

This year, the AWA conference was held in Victoria, at The Park on Albert Park Lake, meaning that RFDS Victoria was the recipient of the auction’s proceeds. 

“The relationship between AWA and the Flying Doctor is built on a shared belief to support our farmers and the broader communities of rural Australia,” says RFDS Victoria Chief Executive, Scott Chapman. “This generous support will enable us to continue to provide vital health services to remote and rural communities across Victoria.” 

Through the generous support of the conference attendees, AWA was able to raise an incredible $33,500 for RFDS Victoria this year. 

Mr Chapman and RFDS Victoria General Manager for Marketing and Fundraising, Marie Quirk, were honoured to be invited along to this year’s charity auction and dinner, and accept on behalf of RFDS Victoria this generous donation.
