All In: RFDS Marks National Reconciliation Week 2026

This National Reconciliation Week, Australians are being called to be All In, to commit wholeheartedly to reconciliation not as a gesture, but as an everyday action.

For the Royal Flying Doctor Service, that call is one we recognise deeply. Delivering healthcare to remote and rural Australia means walking alongside Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities every day, in some of the most vast and underserved regions of our country.

Reconciliation is not an add-on to our work. It is woven through it.

NRW 2026

As we mark NRW 2026 from 27 May to 3 June, we reflect on the milestones that anchor these dates: the 1967 Referendum, which granted the Commonwealth power to legislate for First Nations peoples, and the 1992 Mabo decision, which recognised native title in Australian law.

We also reflect on our own journey. RFDS is committed to a Reconciliation Action Plan that holds us accountable to building respectful relationships, supporting First Nations employment and health equity, and ensuring our services are culturally safe for every patient we reach.

Being All In means more than acknowledgement. It means listening, learning, and taking action in partnership with the communities we serve.

This week, we encourage our staff, supporters and volunteers to find a way to participate in reconciliation where they are, whether that is attending a local NRW event, engaging with Reconciliation Australia's resources, or simply taking a moment to reflect on what reconciliation means in their daily lives.

We are proud to be part of this journey, and we are committed to going further together.
