Based in Broken Hill, Clive Bishop Medical Centre (CBMC) opened in 2014 with a vision to deliver accessible, in-town medical care for residents living on properties and in remote communities surrounding the area. The Opportunity

We are seeking a reliable and organised Medical Receptionist to join our team on a casual basis, 11.3 hours per week. This role plays an essential part in ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of the practice and delivering excellent service to patients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Triage and manage patient phone calls and enquiries
  • Greet patients and provide high-quality customer service
  • Maintain and update patient records and documentation
  • Manage appointments, recalls, and reminders
  • Support Telehealth bookings and coordination
  • Liaise with hospitals, pathology providers, and other health services
  • Assist with billing, invoicing, and payment processing (EFTPOS, cash, cheque)
  • Handle incoming/outgoing medical documentation (scanning, faxing, filing)
  • Support accreditation processes and maintain compliance standards
  • Assist with medical supplies and pathology sample handling
  • Operate and troubleshoot office equipment
  • Contribute to a safe workplace, infection control, and quality improvement practices

About You

You are friendly, adaptable, and able to work efficiently in a busy healthcare environment. In addition to this you will have;

  • Previous administrative or reception experience (medical preferred)
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and work as part of a team
  • Basic knowledge of office systems and data entry
  • Familiarity with medical terminology (desirable)
  • Experience with medical software (e.g. Best Practice, Hot Docs) is an advantage
  • NSW Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain)
  • Evidence of Category A Vaccinations (or willingness to obtain)
