Senior Medical Receptionist - Full Time

The Royal Flying Doctor Service South Eastern Section (RFDSSE) is part of one of Australia’s most respected and trusted organisations, providing 24-hour emergency aeromedical retrievals and essential healthcare to people living and working in remote, rural, and regional communities.
Based in Broken Hill, Clive Bishop Medical Centre (CBMC) opened in 2014 with a vision to deliver accessible, in-town medical care for residents living on properties and in remote communities surrounding the area. Since then, CBMC has grown into a thriving practice, servicing the Broken Hill township and surrounding regions. The Opportunity:
- Manage front desk operations, including triaging calls and coordinating patient appointments
- Provide high-quality administrative and secretarial support to clinical staff
- Maintain accurate patient records, document management, and confidentiality
- Process Medicare, DVA, insurance, and WorkCover billing and reconciliations
- Facilitate Telehealth appointments and manage appointment systems
- Provide training and support to staff using Best Practice and Hot Docs
- Liaise with hospitals, pathology providers, and external stakeholders to coordinate patient care
- Support stock control, medical supplies handling, and clinic organisation
- Assist with accreditation processes, compliance, and quality improvement initiatives
- Handle patient enquiries and complaints in a professional and timely manner
- Support the Practice Manager with daily operations and step into the role during leave periods
About You:
- Ability to multitask and work effectively as part of a team
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Ability to perform secretarial duties supporting General Practitioners and Practice Nurses to maintain efficient operations
- Demonstrated ability to take initiative and work autonomously when required
- High attention to detail with the ability to produce accurate work
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Evidence of Category A Vaccinations or ability to obtain
- Current NSW Working with Children Check or ability to obtain
