The Royal Flying Doctor Service South Eastern Section (RFDSSE) has a unique opportunity to make impactful change as we seek to appoint a full time, Principal Advisor Safety & Management Systems, based in Sydney, NSW.
As our Principal Advisor Safety & Management Systems, you will play a vital role in delivering a fit-for-purpose integrated Safety Management System (SMS) that is tailored to the RFDSSE needs. You will also provide subject matter expertise across aviation safety; health safety and environment HSE); and risk management.
Reporting directly to the Head of Risk and Assurance, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Developing and improving the RFDSSE SMS, HSE system and Quality Management System (QMS) with the goal of:
- Ensuring the systems are practical and fit-for purpose
- Integrating the SMS, HSE & QMS systems or developing common processes and procedures to reduce complexity
- Providing subject matter expertise across the RFDSSE on aviation safety; HSE; and risk management
- Develop and deliver safety relation training and promotion initiatives
About You:
As our Principal Advisor Safety & Management Systems you will demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills having the ability to effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders, be reliable and responsive with a can-do attitude, present with energy and strong motivation, demonstrate initiative and strong decision-making capabilities with an ability to work unsupervised, and work to always uphold our values through acting ethically and professionally.
You will additionally present with the pre-requisites of:
- Demonstrated experience and proven leadership in aviation safety systems
- Proven success in aligning safety frameworks with operational needs in complex aviation environments
- Demonstrated strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities
Desirable pre-requisites include:
- Formal; qualification in aviation safety management systems
- Demonstrated experience in integrating aviation safety; HSE; and quality systems
- Demonstrated experience in HSE including knowledge of legislation and better practices
