Position Description

The Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) provides comprehensive health care and aeromedical retrieval services to regional, rural and remote communities across Australia.

The RFDS Federation Office is seeking a motivated Executive Officer to fill a newly created role based in Canberra. Working as part of a small office team you will provide administrative support to the Executive Director, the Board and Federation Working Group Committees and assist with day to day functions of a small office.

Drawing on previous experience providing executive level/office support, you will support smooth, efficient operation of the office and professional representation of the RFDS across the Federation. Responsibilities range from general office tasks to complex workflow management and executive interactions. Collaboration, initiative and professionalism are key to success in the role and to the RFDS nationally.

Core to this role are the following responsibilities:

> Providing confidential administrative and secretarial support to the Executive Director;
> Provide administrative and secretarial support to the National working group/committees;
> Oversee organisation of Board meetings and sub-committee meetings and provide support to Executive Director, Company Secretary and the Board as required;
> Act as Minute Secretary of the Board and Federation Working Group Committees (collation and dissemination of papers, responses, catering, venues & travel);
> Oversee the day to day running of RFDS Federation office operations;
> Contribute the culture of the organisation by setting high standards to ensure continued strong organisational performance;
> Develop sound working relationships with internal and external stakeholders

Essential Criteria

> Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or substantial work experience in providing high-level administrative support to a senior executive or equivalent in a similar environment.
> Highly developed organisational and planning skills, with a level of attention to detail and the ability to proritise tasks.
> Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills including the ability to initiate and prepare correspondence, briefing papers and reports.
> Demonstrated capacity to work independently, show initiative and exercise discretionary judgment.
> Self-starter with solid time management.
> Efficient management of a multi-tasking environment.
> Highly motivated, ethical and moral
> Passion for cause and be an ambassador for RFDS internally and externally
> Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office suite

Remuneration

A remuneration package, including salary-packaging options commensurate with skills and experience will be offered. Flexible working arrangements, and part time job share arrangements may also be considered for the right applicant.
