Children in the Bourke region are set to benefit from a generous $10,000 donation from the Commonwealth Bank.

To mark its 100-year anniversary, the bank created Centenary Grants for 1000 of its branches to allocate funding to be spent on causes that will help young people in that region. And the RFDS Dubbo Support Group successfully applied for one of these Centenary Grants, and will donate the $10,000 cheque to the dental health program.

The Commonwealth Bank’s Bourke branch manager Brendan Gunn presented the cheque to Dubbo Support Group president Terry Clark and RFDS SE dentist Jenny Pham at a ceremony at Bourke’s Aboriginal Health Service in Bourke on 27 June.

Dentist Jenny Pham thanked the Commonwealth Bank and the Royal Flying Doctor Dubbo Support Group.

“We’re really pleased to be receiving a Centenary Grant for $10,000,” Jenny said.

“The help of the Commonwealth Bank and the Dubbo Support Group is hugely valued as it allows us to push ahead and continue to improve the dental health of people living in and around Bourke.

“This grant will be spent on the tooth brushing and healthy eating programs in primary schools at Bourke and Enngonia, north of Bourke.”
