Peter de Cure appointed RFDS Central Operations Chairman

Peter de Cure is the new Chairman of Royal Flying Doctor Service Central Operations (serving SA/NT), endorsed by resolution of fellow Directors at the April Board Meeting.

Peter replaces Loretta Reynolds, who remains on the Board as Deputy Chairman and the Central Operations delegate on the RFDS Federation Board of the Royal Flying Doctor Service of Australia.

A Partner and Chair of national law firm Thomson Geer, Loretta joined the RFDS Central Operations Board in 2011 and has served as Chairman for the past three years.

A long-time RFDS supporter, Peter de Cure joined the RFDS Central Operations Board in June 2018 and has been Chairman of the Finance Committee since October 2018.

“I would like to thank Loretta for her professional support and tireless service as Board Chairman over the past three years and formally welcome Peter to the role,” says Tony Vaughan ASM, Chief Executive of RFDS Central Operations. 

“In their capacity as volunteers, Peter and Loretta will be able to concentrate their expertise and efforts on the respective sectional and national agendas of the organisation during these unprecedented times as we collectively respond to the COVID-19 pandemic,” Tony says.

A former KPMG Partner, Peter de Cure is an experienced non-executive director and Chairman, with strong technical skills in governance, finance, accounting, taxation, mergers, acquisitions and practical business knowledge across many industries.

“It is a privilege to serve RFDS Central Operations in the capacity of Chairman, with it the responsibility shared by the Board of advocating and governing delivery of improved health outcomes for rural and remote South Australians and Territorians,” Peter says.
