About this Opportunity

Our Alice Springs Tourist Facility provides an opportunity for the public to learn about the history, staff, and patients of the Royal Flying Doctor Service and their heroic stories, in a technology driven and interactive environment.

Reporting to the Tourism Manager NT, the Tourist Facility Manager is responsible for leading and expanding the digital and retail business plans for the Alice Springs Tourist Facility in line with strategic priorities and reflective of the RFDS brand. The Tourist Facility Manager will provide effective and efficient operational leadership and management of the team and activities provided through the Alice Springs Tourist Facility.

This integral role specifically involves:

  • Effective and efficient operation of the Alice Springs Tourist Facility.
  • Development and stewardship of digital and retail business plans and their implementation by Tourist Facility staff.
  • Supervision of Tourist Facility staff, meeting mandatory training requirements, and the maintaining of appropriate staffing levels through rostering and recruitment;
  • Enhancing and protecting the RFDS brand, image and reputation throughout Alice Springs and the Top End, and aid planning, preparation and facilitation of approved RFDS fundraising activities.

About You
You are:

  • Excellent with customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Professionally presented with a strong business networking capability.
  • Able to work effectively and maintain strong relationships with a diverse range of people within the community.

To be considered for the role you require:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Business, Tourism, Project Management, or Marketing, or significant relevant industry experience.
  • Proven track record in sales and marketing in the tourism sector.
  • Proven ability in staff supervision, leadership, and training in a fast-paced business.
