About this Opportunity
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Strategic Procurement Specialist plays a critical role in delivering value-driven, compliant and sustainable procurement outcomes across RFDS SA/NT.
This role leads strategic sourcing initiatives, develops procurement policy, enhances organisational procurement capability and ensures procurement practices align with governance requirements and the unique operational needs of remote healthcare delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Specifically, you will:
- Lead end-to-end procurement and strategic sourcing activities, including planning, market analysis, evaluation, negotiation and contract award
- Develop and implement category management and procurement strategies that deliver value for money and operational efficiency
- Provide expert advice on procurement best practice, market trends, risk and compliance
- Prepare, negotiate and manage contracts across their lifecycle, including renewals and variations
- Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers
- Monitor supplier performance, manage risk and ensure compliance with relevant legislation and internal policies
- Promote and identify opportunities for procurement from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander businesses
- Provide guidance, training and support to stakeholders across the organisation.
About You
You are a collaborative and strategic procurement professional who thrives in a complex and purpose-driven environment. You bring strong commercial acumen, excellent stakeholder engagement skills and a commitment to governance and continuous improvement.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Demonstrated experience managing complex procurement processes and strategic sourcing initiatives
- Strong understanding of procurement principles, contract law and supplier management
- Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship-building skills
- High-level analytical, problem-solving and organisational capability
- The ability to manage multiple priorities and work autonomously
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and procurement-related systems
Qualifications:
- Tertiary qualifications in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business or a related discipline (essential)
- Experience in aviation, health, government or not-for-profit sectors (desirable)
