About this Opportunity
An opportunity for a motivated and passionate Senior Safety, Health, Environment and Quality (SHEQ) Advisor, your role will be multifaceted with responsibilities spanning across various areas. You will help design and implement specific programs addressing workplace health & safety for our people across aviation, clinical, corporate, and retail disciplines/functions
Your key Responsibilities will include but not limited to:
- Lead the design, review, and rollout of targeted Occupational Health, Safety & Wellbeing programs that address workplace-specific risks and drive a culture of care.
- Deliver high-impact summary reports with actionable insights to People Leaders, the Executive Leadership Team, and the Board—turning data into decisions.
- Conduct focused workplace assessments to identify and resolve health, safety, and wellbeing challenges before they escalate.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure RFDS SA/NT workers are equipped with essential tools and capabilities—ranging from advanced communications systems to safe driving techniques and personal safety training.
- Champion compliance and continuous improvement across all safety, environmental, and quality accreditation frameworks.
- Drive strategic input into RFDS SA/NT’s environmental plan, contributing to meaningful emissions reduction and sustainability outcomes. Design, review and implement workplace-specific Occupational Health, Safety and Wellbeing programs.
About You
To be considered for the role you require:
- Relevant qualification in Work Health and Safety, Environment, Quality, or related fields
- High level of knowledge and skill in managing occupational health, safety and wellbeing in a high-risk industry
- Knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation for Work Health and Safety and Environmental legislative requirements
- Experience in managing/conducting remote and regional operations, particularly in hostile environments
- Effective leadership skills including highly developed skills in communication, problem solving conflict resolution and negotiation
Experience in Incident investigation experience would be advantageous, however, not essential.
