
Philanthropy Manager
About the role
Reporting to the Head of Fundraising and Philanthropy, this permanent full-time leadership role sits within Community Relations and is part of the RFDS WA Senior Leadership Team. Based at Jandakot HQ, you will lead major gift programs and play a key role in a multi-year capital fundraising campaign preparing RFDS WA for its centenary in 2028.
Responsibilities include:
- Lead the Philanthropy team to deliver best practice across major gifts, bequests, trusts and foundations.
- Drive the centenary capital campaign: case for support, donor pipeline, milestones, stewardship, and Board/executive engagement.
- Manage a portfolio of mid and major donors with tailored cultivation, solicitation and stewardship plans.
- Mobilise senior leaders, Board and volunteers to engage philanthropists.
- Oversee Gifts in Wills growth with targeted programs and stewardship.
- Secure high-value grants and collaborate on compelling donor materials and reporting.
- Ensure compliance with FIA Code of Conduct, Privacy Act and ACNC requirements.
- Use CRM insights to track donor relationships, forecast income and inform strategy.
About you
- Relevant degree or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years in philanthropy with major gift and capital campaign success.
- Strong relationship management, stewardship and presentation skills.
- Strategic planning and project management capability.
- Confident communicator with excellent written skills.
- Proven CRM experience for donor pipeline management.
- Professionalism, integrity, empathy and genuine alignment to RFDS mission.
Desirable
- Experience with Raiser’s Edge NXT or similar CRM.
- Data analysis, content development and grant writing skills.
- Event management and donor engagement experience.
- Membership (or willingness to gain) with FIA and Philanthropy Australia.
