About this Opportunity

Reporting directly to the Executive General Manager - People, Culture and Environment, the Payroll Services Manager is responsible for the management of payroll services across the organisational and plays a key role in the implementation of multiple critical projects and systems.

We believe our people – all of our people – keep the Royal Flying Doctor Service flying.

Specifically, you will:
- Oversee end-to-end payroll operations for 550+ employees, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and a great employee experience.
- Provide expert advice on payroll legislation, Awards, and Enterprise Agreements.
- Lead statutory reporting (STP, FBT, PAYG, EOFY, superannuation) and partner closely with Finance.
- Play a key role in the implementation of a new Time & Attendance and Rostering system, and support the rollout of our new Human Capital Management System (HCMS).
- Drive process improvements, automation, and payroll governance.
- Build strong relationships across P&C, Finance, and operational teams while leading and developing the payroll team.

About you:

We’re looking for a strategic and hands-on leader with:
- Significant experience managing end-to-end payroll in a complex, multi-site environment.
- Strong technical knowledge of payroll legislation and compliance frameworks.
- Proven experience with Chris21/iChris and exposure to payroll or HRIS system implementations.
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement skills and attention to detail.
- A collaborative, solutions-focused mindset with the ability to manage competing priorities.

Desirable:
Experience with rostering or time & attendance systems, payroll/HCMS transformation projects, and relevant tertiary or payroll qualifications.
