About this Opportunity
Reporting directly to the Executive General Manager, Operations and Logistics the Operations Director, South Australia will provide strategic and operational leadership across all aspects of RFDS services within the state. This pivotal role is accountable for the day-to-day operations, workforce, and supporting infrastructure that enable the delivery of aeromedical, charter, and ambulance services across RFDS operational locations in South Australia.
As Operations Director, you will be entrusted with ensuring the safe, high-quality, and efficient delivery of services that directly impact the wellbeing of the communities we serve.
Specifically, you will:
• Lead, develop and inspire a high-performing operations team to achieve organisational goals.
• Collaborate with operational leaders to optimise the use of resources and deliver safe, efficient, and sustainable services.
• Champion excellence in service delivery through strong leadership, innovative practices, and robust operational planning.
• Develop service budgets in conjunction with the operational leadership team, and provide budget stewardship for all services, projects and programs.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with key external stakeholders across the state.
About You
You have:
• Significant experience leading and managing diverse teams, with the ability to inspire, influence, and build effective relationships across all levels.
• Highly developed leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the capacity to align people and resources towards shared goals.
• A strong understanding of contemporary human resource management and organisational performance practices.
• Demonstrated resilience, adaptability, and sound decision-making skills in complex and high-pressure environments.
To be considered for the role you require:
• Tertiary qualifications in Business Management, Operations or other relevant discipline or demonstrated equivalent relevant experience (particularly in Aeromedical, Emergency Services, Health or Defence fields).
