What You’ll Do
We’re looking for a proactive and organised individual to manage day-to-day shift operations, dispatch crews, and ensure crew welfare and fatigue management. This role is key to delivering safe, efficient, and high-quality patient transport services across Victoria
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and dispatch NEPT crews for both road and aeromedical transport services
- Monitor shift operations, ensuring smooth day-to-day service delivery across both modes
- Support crew welfare and fatigue management in alignment with RFDS policies
- Maintain effective operational communications with internal teams and external stakeholders
- Ensure compliance with RFDS procedures, NEPT regulations, and clinical protocols
- Provide accurate administrative support, including data entry, invoicing, and reporting
- Collaborate with rostering and leadership teams to optimise staffing and scheduling
Additional Requirements:
- All Air and Road NEPT shifts must be performed at the Essendon Hangar
- Occasional travel to other RFDS locations may be required
- Travel/accommodation costs from other locations (e.g. Sale) are not covered unless approved by the Head of Department
- Minimum of two Aeromedical shifts at Essendon Hangar every 28 days
- Road NEPT shifts may also be performed at the Sale Office, or as directed
What You’ll Need
- Organisational Skills – Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritise effectively, and maintain accurate records and schedules
- Communication Skills – Strong verbal and written communication, with professional interaction across teams and stakeholders
- Attention to Detail – High accuracy in documentation, data entry, and correspondence
- Technical Proficiency – Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite and open to learning new systems and tools
- Industry Knowledge – Understanding of NEPT operations and regulations; medical terminology knowledge is desirable
- Team Coordination – Experience in coordinating multi-disciplinary teams to meet operational goals
- Aeromedical Experience – Prior experience in aeromedical or flight operations is desirable
- Security Clearance – Ability to obtain and maintain an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC)
- Roster Flexibility – Willingness to work a 24/7 rotating roster, including weekends and public holidays
