Midwifery Scholarships
Have you always dreamed of working with Australia’s leading aeromedical health service, but aren’t yet qualified as a midwife? As part of RFDS, you’ll play a vital role in delivering life-saving care to communities across Western Australia.
The Royal Flying Doctor Service (Western Operations) is offering a limited number of Midwifery Scholarships to help Registered Nurses take the next step in their careers.
The scholarships offer financial assistance towards a post-graduate diploma of midwifery. Successful applicants are required to complete the specified course and then work for a minimum of one year at one of the five RFDS bases in WA.
These scholarships are to be used for costs associated with your study towards a Midwifery Qualification in 2025/26 such as course fees, text books, etc.
Selection Criteria:
• Registered with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse.
• A minimum of three years post-graduate nursing experience (ideally including critical care or emergency nursing).
• Acceptance into a midwifery course conducted by an approved and accredited provider.
• Flexibility to work at any RFDS WA base as determined by the organisation.
• Australian citizen or permanent resident of Australia.
Applications for 2026 scholarships close on Friday 28 November 2025.
