About the Role

As an IT Support Officer with the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS), based in our Richmond office, you’ll serve as the first point of contact for technical support, triaging calls and tickets, resolving basic hardware and software issues, and assisting with IT setups and user onboarding. You’ll work closely with the broader IT team to support initiatives that enhance collaboration and digital productivity across the organisation.

This is a full-time role, with the first three months based in-office for training and onboarding, followed by the opportunity to transition to a hybrid work arrangement. Ideal for recent graduates or those early in their career, this position offers hands-on experience, professional development, and the chance to make a meaningful impact in a nationally respected organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

- Respond to IT support queries via phone, email, and Helpdesk system
- Troubleshoot basic hardware, software, and network issues
- Escalate complex problems to senior team members
- Maintain accurate records of tickets, resolutions, and IT assets
- Assist with device setup, user accounts, and access permissions
- Support system upgrades and software rollouts
- Participate in rotational on-call shifts and occasional travel to RFDS sites

To be successful, you will need:

Essential:

- A keen interest in IT and a willingness to learn
- Basic understanding of Microsoft Office and MS Teams
- Strong communication skills and ability to build rapport
- Good organisational skills and ability to work under pressure
- Up to 2 years’ experience in admin, customer service, or similar roles
Desirable:

- A qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science or related discipline (or working towards one).
- Microsoft or industry certifications
- Familiarity with ticketing systems and remote management tools
- Experience in community health, charity, or not-for-profit setting
