Clinical Governance Advisor

At the Royal Flying Doctor Service – Western Operations (RFDS WO), we’re committed to delivering excellence in primary health care and aeromedical services across some of the most remote parts of our state. As our Clinical Governance Advisor, you’ll help shape how we deliver safe, high-quality services, supporting our teams with the frameworks, systems and processes that underpin clinical excellence.
You’ll be working closely with our Head of Clinical Governance and people across the organisation to embed quality, safety, compliance and continuous improvement into everything we do.
What you’ll do:
- Partner with the Head of Clinical Governance to strengthen governance and quality across our clinical services
- Champion continuous improvement and evidence-based practice to help us deliver safe, high-quality care
- Help develop and implement clear, practical clinical policies that meet national safety and accreditation standards
- Support clinical risk management by helping identify, assess and respond to key risks
- Keep our documents, templates and reporting tools up to date and fit for purpose
- Gather and analyse information to create meaningful reports that support informed decision-making
- Play a key role in audits, compliance activities and keeping us accreditation-ready
- Get involved in quality improvement activities and projects that make a real difference
- Keep our patients and teams front of mind in everything you do, with a strong consumer-first approach
- Identify opportunities for improvement and contribute to positive change across the organisation
- Help us maintain a strong safety culture by identifying risks and promoting safe practices
- Be a values-driven team member who supports a respectful, inclusive and collaborative workplace
About You:
You’re someone who genuinely cares about delivering better healthcare and sees the bigger picture when it comes to quality, safety and clinical governance. You’re detail-orientated, confident writing policies or reports, and happy to collaborate across all levels of the organisation. Whether it's rolling up your sleeves for a new project or helping refine a process, you're driven by purpose and results.
You’ll bring:
- A relevant degree in health, quality, governance or a similar field
- AHPRA registration
- Postgraduate certification or experience in clinical governance or quality improvement (desirable)
- Demonstrated success in delivering successful quality improvement outcomes
- Postgraduate risk management certification or experience (desirable)
- Ability to think and act operationally, using sound judgement in a fast-paced environment
- Confidence managing competing priorities and meeting deadlines
- A proactive approach to adopting and supporting change management
- Strong understanding of customer relationship management principles
- Experience interpreting data and producing professional, evidence-based reports
- A solid working knowledge of Australian Privacy Principles and health-related regulation
- Familiarity with NSQHS and/ or RACGP/ NGPS accreditation frameworks
- Excellent written and verbal communication, documentation and reporting skills
