About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and safety focused Aviation Safety Investigator to join our Aviation Safety & Quality team. In this role, you will lead aviation safety investigations, analyse contributing factors, and support continuous improvement across our Safety Management System (SMS).You will work closely with operational leaders, technical teams, and external stakeholders to ensure findings are translated into effective safety actions and ongoing organisational learning. Your work will help strengthen our internal safety processes and reinforce a proactive safety culture.

The position can be located at the Adelaide or Darwin. Applicants need to advise of their preferred location in their application.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate safety investigations, including fact finding, causal analysis, and development of corrective and preventative actions.
  • Prepare clear, evidence based investigation reports and maintain accurate SMS records.
  • Support audits, risk assessments, and other safety assurance activities.
  • Partner with managers to ensure safety actions are implemented and monitored.
  • Contribute to safety promotion initiatives, training materials, and continuous improvement projects.
  • Build productive relationships with internal teams, regulators, and industry stakeholders.
  • Assist with safety related data analysis and reporting.

About You
You bring strong aviation safety knowledge and practical experience in investigative or auditing environments. You’re comfortable working independently and collaboratively, and you’re skilled at translating technical information into clear insights.

What You’ll Bring

  • Experience working within an aviation environment.
  • Background in safety investigations, audits, or safety assurance.
  • Understanding of aviation regulations and human factors.
  • Strong communication, analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to build trust and engage with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Comfortable managing competing priorities in a dynamic setting.
  • Confident using digital systems and Microsoft Office tools.

Desirable

  • Qualification in safety investigation.
  • Lead Auditor credential.
