The Royal Flying Doctor Service South Eastern Section (RFDSSE) is seeking a dedicated Flight Nurse to join our team based in Broken Hill. In this pivotal role, you will have the opportunity to make meaningful impact by delivering high-quality nursing care to patients within an aeromedical environment.

RFDSSE offers flexible employment options to suit different lifestyle needs, including fly‑in fly‑out (FIFO) arrangements, as well as full‑time based in permanently in Broken Hill.

About You:

As a Flight Nurse, you will work in a highly autonomous environment, drawing on your skills and clinical experience to deliver high‑quality acute patient care. You will be expected to demonstrate initiative and sound clinical judgement in emergency situations, in accordance with RFDSSE guidelines and in collaboration with company Medical Officers or on‑call Medical Retrieval Consultants.

You will also have:

  • Relevant registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Authority (AHPRA)
  • Post Registration qualifications in Midwifery with birth suite experience
  • Minimum 4 years' Acute Post Graduate Critical Care and Nursing experience (fields inclusive of Emergency, ICU, Cardiac or Cardiothoracic Nursing)
  • Current Advanced Life Support Certification
  • Being Ventilator Competent
