The Royal Flying Doctor Service of Australia (RFDS) is one of the largest and most comprehensive aeromedical organisations in the world. The RFDS South Eastern Section has provided dental services to people in rural and remote communities in Far West and Upper Western NSW, SA and QLD for more than 20 years. Our dental team provides oral health services via fly in fly out clinics from Dubbo and Broken Hill, as well as services from our mobile dental van.

We currently have a vacancy for an enthusiastic, experienced and suitably qualified Dental Assistant to join our dental team in Dubbo. Full-Time Preferred, however part-time and casual opportunities will also be considered. Please note this role is based in Dubbo and FIFO/DIDO would not be considered.

The successful applicant will have the opportunity to:

· Maintain Infection control standards

· Provide clinical and administrative assistance to the dentist and Oral Health Team as required

·Assist withOral Health education to children and community groups

·Assist with the provision dental screening and treatment to children

· Work in the dental van

· Be part of a dynamic aero-dental team

The ideal candidate will meet the following criteria:

· Certificate III in dental assisting required (remove cert IV)

· Current Driver's License

Current working with Children Check

· Demonstrated interest in dental public health

· Understanding of the needs of Indigenous Peoples

·Able to stay overnight in our network for up to1 week (home on weekends)

· Ability to commence work at 7:30am as required ,however start times may vary based on clinic schedules and service locations.

This is an exciting and diverse position offering a mix of remote dental services and public dentistry, providing much needed services to rural and remote communities. Some days you will be flying to remote communities to provide general dental services, workingwithI ndigenous Health Facilities, and others working from a mobile dental van with overnight stays in local communities.
