We are excited to offer you a Maximum Term Part-Time (0.8 FTE) position as a Mental Health & AOD Clinician with the RFDS (South Eastern Section), based in Broken Hill, NSW.

The Role

We are seeking a passionate clinician to provide counselling, advocacy, case management and support across rural and remote Far West NSW. Based in Broken Hill, you will deliver face-to-face and Telehealth services, working with clients, community services and health professionals to strengthen mental health and wellbeing outcomes across the region. You will also work with stakeholders to deliver health promotion activities, improve health literacy and build local capacity across the region.

Key Responsibilities:

· Conduct mental health, alcohol & other drug assessment, and evidence-based intervention

· Deliver counselling and early intervention services to individuals across the lifespan in rural and remote Far West NSW communities

· Conduct clinical assessments and develop comprehensive care plans, documenting risk, history, treatment rationale and outcome measures whilst monitoring treatment effectiveness

· Ensure medical oversight through multidisciplinary review, with referral to psychiatry or tele-psychiatry services as required

· Deliver services across various locations, prioritising face-to-face delivery supplemented by Telehealth or phone support

· Maintain accurate and legally compliant client records, ensuring security and protecting client confidentiality at all times

About You:

· Diploma (or equivalent) in Counselling, Mental Health, Psychotherapy, or a related discipline

· Relevant experience in mental health, counselling, or Mental Health peer work

· Demonstrated experience in case management with people experiencing complex mental health issues

· Ability to build rapport with clients while liaising, negotiating and advocating with a range of stakeholders

· Computer literate, preferably with experience using Windows

· Willingness to undertake any relevant training opportunities for professional development

· Current First Aid certificate & Driver’s License

· NSW Working with Children Check, or ability to obtain

· Satisfactory completion of a National Police Check

Desirable:

· Postgraduate qualifications in a relevant field

· Experience in trauma-informed practice

· Knowledge of psychotropic medications and basic medication management

· Experience working in rural/remote or cross-cultural settings
