About the Role
Reporting directly to the Head of Aviation Safety and Quality, as the Aviation Safety & Quality Assurance Specialist – Aviation, you will be primarily responsible for supporting the administration and continual improvement of the Aviation Operations (Flight & Ground) compliance with safety and quality standards.
The position can be located at the Adelaide or Darwin. Applicants need to advise of their preferred location in their application.
Key Responsibilities:
• Review legislative changes and recommend changes to audit checklists.
• Develop and prepare checklist for use in internal and external audits.
• Conduct external audits of sub-contractors to assess their suitability to perform contracted tasks for RFDS SA/NT.
• Assist in administering the Safety Assurance Program in other operational areas, including but not limited to Safety, Health, Environment and Quality (SHEQ) and Clinical Safety and Quality as required
About You
You bring strong aviation safety knowledge and practical experience in safety and quality assurance environments. You’re comfortable working independently and collaboratively, and you’re skilled at supporting the administration and continual improvement of the Aviation Operations (Flight & Ground) compliance with safety and quality standards.
What You’ll Bring
• Prior experience in an operational aviation environment.
• Demonstrated experience conducting system audits investigations, including an understanding of human factors and non-technical skills.
• Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on practical solutions.
• Demonstrated capability to work autonomously within a small, dynamic team environment, demonstrating a flexible, adaptable and collaborative approach.
To be considered for the role you require:
• Minimum of Lead Auditor qualification.
• Safety Investigation qualification.
