About this Opportunity
Reporting directly to the Growth and Development Manager, as the Events Specialist, you will be responsible for concept, development and execution events – major and minor – that generate profit, brand awareness and build relationships for RFDS SA/NT across its suite of internal and external stakeholders.
We believe our people – all of our people – keep the Royal Flying Doctor Service flying.
Specifically, you will:
- Plan, deliver and review all RFDS SA/NT events by managing annual event calendars, end-to-end project planning, logistics, stakeholder coordination, compliance requirements, and on-the-day operations.
- Drive fundraising outcomes by developing new initiatives, securing donated goods for raffles/auctions, and producing high-quality events that meet revenue and engagement targets.
- Manage relationships and resources including suppliers, venues, volunteers, staff and a comprehensive vendor database to ensure high-quality, safe and efficient event execution.
- Lead marketing, PR and brand activation through creation of event collateral, management of merchandise and consistent promotion of the RFDS SA/NT public profile.
About You
You are:
- Proven track record of achieving fundraising targets in the not-for-profit sector.
- Demonstrated capability to work productively and autonomously within a small, dynamic team environment, demonstrating a flexible, adaptable and collaborative approach.
- Demonstrated capability to interact and engage with a diverse range of people and build professional relationships that add value to RFDS’s Purpose and Values.
- High level of interpersonal, negotiation and written communication skills, with the ability to deliver professional, effective presentations to corporate and community audiences.
- Proficient with the Event Management System and Event registration tool used to manage registration and event logistics.
To be considered for the role you require:
- Tertiary qualifications and/or minimum five (5) years’ experience in event management, marketing, fundraising or public relations.
