About this Opportunity


The RFDS SA/NT is building an Integrated Primary Health & Education Centre in Port Augusta, providing an innovative opportunity to lead the future for the delivery of rural and remote primary health care. The intent of the IPHEC is to develop a pipeline supply of health professionals with a passion to work in rural and remote settings, through supporting their education and training pathways. RFDS is seeking someone who is passionate about primary care in a general practice setting and is excited at the prospect of establishing a new business operation and can tackle that challenge head on.

The centre will provide increased access to multi-disciplinary primary health care for the local community and for more than 1,600 existing RFDS patients who live remotely and visit Port Augusta regularly, ultimately supporting up to 25,000 patient consultations every year providing General Practice, nursing, mental health, Aboriginal health, allied health and oral health services. As a dedicated undergraduate and post graduate education and training base, the centre will host placements for Medical, Nursing and Allied Health students in partnership with tertiary and training partners.

 

The Business Manager IPHEC will play a pivotal role in ensuring the day-to-day functioning of the centre while supporting the growth of the centre within the Port Augusta community to achieve its strategic intent. Reporting to the Executive GM Primary Care & Clinical Safety/Quality the role will be responsible for:

 

·      Stakeholder engagement and growth initiatives that support the service expansion and diversification within the strategic intent for the centre

·         Education and Training seeking opportunities to host training events, student and trainee placements by developing partnerships with training and education key stakeholders

·         Lead and manage the centre daily operations to deliver outstanding patient care.

·         Liaison and Communication working closely with the clinicians to ensure smooth operations and effective communication.

·         Clinical and commercial alignment, to ensure the service is meeting all requirements for Medicare  

·         Continuous improvement and innovation in service delivery, systems and customer experience.

·         Safety and governance of the clinic ensuring alignment with accreditation standards.

 

About You


You will be an experienced, motivated and highly organised professional who brings:

 

·         A minimum of 3 years’ experience in business development and management and/or high-level general practice administrative position.

·         The ability to build customer and stakeholder relationships.

·         Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team.

·         An understanding or experience in general practice accreditation and standards, including education and training  pathways

·         A degree in healthcare or business management.
