Description

The Aircraft Maintenance Planner is responsible for coordinating maintenance planning for the Royal Flying Doctor Service (Queensland Section) fleet working closely with the Approved Maintenance Organisation and Operations Control Centre (OCC) to minimise operational impacts due to scheduled maintenance.
  
The role facilitates planning, scheduling, forecasting, and creation of work orders within the maintenance system, ensuring processes and procedures are applied consistently. The focus is on maximising aircraft availability, minimising maintenance costs, and ensuring safe, compliant operational performance.
  
 The Aircraft Maintenance Planner is a Permanent, Full-Time position based at the RFDS Brisbane Base.
  
Key responsibilities
Key responsibilities of this role will include:

  • Develop and maintain short, medium, and long term maintenance plans, ensuring alignment with fleet availability and operational priorities
  • Collaborate with the Operations Control Centre, Airworthiness team members and the contracted AMO’s
  • Undertaking specialist projects and engineering administration as required
  • Apply quality assurance principles to tech records keeping, ensuring data accuracy and compliance
  • Verify and update aircraft utilisation data (hours, cycles, TTIS)
  • Maintain aircraft technical records by filing logbook entries within SharePoint and the MIS
  • Ensure the RFDS service delivery is compliant with legislative and regulatory requirements
The Aircraft Maintenance Planner also provides backup support to Technical Records, assisting with the creation, distribution, upkeep, and acquittal of maintenance documentation to maintain the integrity of Continuing Airworthiness Control.

Who we are looking for?

To be successful in this role you will possess the following:
  • At least 3 years of experience in an Aircraft Maintenance Planning position
  • High attention to detail with proven ability to maintain data integrity in a Maintenance Information System (Veryon Tracking+ or similar).
  • Demonstrated experience in aviation or aircraft engineering and aircraft maintenance environments
  • Comprehensive knowledge of regulatory environment for aircraft maintenance and airworthiness control
  • Knowledge of aircraft utilisation monitoring (hours, cycles, TTIS).
  • Proven ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
  • Effective communication and coordination skills across technical, engineering, and operational teams.
  • High level of technical competency in data entry and quality control
