About the Role
Reporting to the People Partnering Manager, the People Partner plays a key role in delivering people focused services to leaders and employees across RFDS Queensland Section. You will be a trusted partner to front and mid level leaders, helping them navigate employee related matters, embed people practices, and uplift their capability in a practical, business integrated way.
This role is well suited to an experienced HR generalist or advisor who is ready to step into a broader partnering role and take ownership of both day-to-day support and improvement initiatives within a dedicated business stream portfolio.
Your day-to-day will involve:
- Providing timely and trusted advice to leaders on employee matters, performance, employee experience, and risk profiling and mitigation
- Delivering value add, business integrated HR partnering support aligned to delivering exceptional people and operational outcomes
- Supporting People initiatives and taking ownership of selected business improvement projects
- Creating and maintaining HR documentation including position descriptions, polices & procedures, performance tools, guides and templates
- Assisting with interpretation and application of awards, enterprise agreements, policies and relevant legislation
- Supporting onboarding and offboarding processes and monitoring survey insights
- Building strong relationships with leaders across the organisation, contributing to a positive and solutions-focused People function as we deliver our People Strategy
About You
You’re a capable, confident HR practitioner with generalist experience who thrives on practical problem-solving and helping leaders navigate people matters with clarity and confidence. You’re known for being proactive, organised, and a collaborator that builds strong relationships across portfolios
You’ll bring:
- 3–5 years’ experience in a generalist or advisory HR role
- Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Employment Law, Business or a related field
- A sound understanding of the Australian industrial relations landscape
- Experience interpreting awards, enterprise agreements, legislation, and organisational policies
- Strong written skills with high attention to detail across templates, documentation and processes
- Ability to influence stakeholders to manage priorities and support stakeholders with a calm, solutions-focused approach
- Strong relationship-building and influencing skills across diverse operational environments
- HRIS experience (Ceridian Dayforce is highly regarded)
- Experience in sectors such as healthcare, aviation, logistics or regulated environments will be well regarded
