Description
Working with Retrieval Services Queensland (RSQ), the Royal Flying Doctor Service (Queensland Section), the Duty Tasking Officer is responsible for the efficient planning and oversight of the RFDS fleet and crew in tasking aeromedical and healthcare services in rural, remote and regional areas throughout Queensland.
As a Duty Tasking Officer (DTO), you will:
- Assist in the efficient planning of crews and aircraft movements and authorise RFDS aircraft and crews to be tasked for flights
- Be the initial point of contact for RFDS aeromedical requests from both Queensland Health/ RSQ and our RFDS Medical Officers
- Under delegation of the HOFO, ensure the operation of RFDS aircraft complies at all times with CASA regulations and RFDS Policies, Procedures and SOPs
- Supply manifests to our bases and pilots before the commencement of each flight
RFDS has an opportunity for a DTO on a casual basis based in Kedron. The DTO will provide support to our DTO team with leave coverage in week blocks (4 days on 4 days off) or standalone shifts.
Who are we looking for?
To be successful in the role, you will have:
- Demonstrated ability in operational logistics management
- Demonstrated experience in multi-tasking and having the ability to make optimal decisions in a timely manner
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to communicate to internal and external stakeholders displaying professionalism and confidentiality in high tempo situations
- Demonstrated ability to utilise databases, dispatch systems and record management systems
- Demonstrated understanding of factors pertaining to aircraft performance
- Demonstrated understanding of operational considerations pertaining to aviation operations
- Previous operational aviation industry experience including Pilot Licence or greater, ATC rating or, Flight Dispatcher role
