To deliver on this commitment, we are expanding our services and seeking a Senior Project Manager who will lead with purpose and drive, ensuring the successful delivery of our mission.

As the Senior Project Manager, reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Clinical Service Delivery, you will lead the project design, mobilisation, and delivery of new and evolving healthcare service models. Your work will create measurable improvements in access, quality, and outcomes, with a strong focus on engagement with First Nations communities.

Working across multiple teams and functions, you’ll influence change and deliver sustainable improvements in how care is delivered across the state.

This role offers exposure to complex programs and senior stakeholders, providing a strong platform to showcase your expertise in health leadership, transformation, and strategy.

Success in this role requires a combination of strong program management capability and extensive healthcare practice experience. You will bring expertise in implementing new models of care, measurement and evaluation, and effective healthcare delivery in rural and remote communities. Flexibility, strong stakeholder engagement, and the ability to mobilise programs in a dynamic environment are essential.

This is a full-time position offered on an initial 18-month maximum-term contract. The role can be based at our Brisbane Corporate Office or at the RFDS Cairns Base.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead end‑to‑end delivery of clinical service projects aligned with organisational strategy, scope, budget, and timelines
  • Develop and implement change management strategies to support the adoption of new models of care
  • Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure collaborative, effective project outcomes
  • Support workforce optimisation initiatives to improve efficiency and long‑term sustainability
  • Ensure all work aligns with clinical governance, safety, and quality standards
  • Embed culturally safe and equitable healthcare project initiatives, to improve access, experience and outcomes for First Nations communities
  • Prepare high‑quality project documentation including business cases, project plans, and risk registers
Essential Requirements
  • 5–7 years’ experience in project management within healthcare or a related environment
  • Strong leadership, communication, stakeholder engagement, and change management capability
  • Proven ability to deliver complex projects in dynamic environments
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and think strategically
  • Relevant university degree and/or healthcare qualifications
