Description

Join the Royal Flying Doctor Service (Queensland Section) (RFDS) as our next Payroll Advisor and be part of a team driven by purpose. You’ll work in a supportive, collaborative environment with leaders genuinely committed to your growth, alongside the flexibility you need to balance work and life.
  
As a critical member of the payroll team, you will deliver accurate, timely and compliant payroll services across the RFDS. This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact by managing end-to-end payroll operations, providing high-quality administrative and advisory support, and contributing to the reliability of each payroll cycle.
  
This is a part-time role with flexibility in how you structure your hours. We are seeking a minimum of 25 hours per week—for example, 9 am to 2 pm with the option to work from home two days per week. The position will initially commence as a 12-month opportunity.
  
What will your day look like?
You will support:
Payroll Processing
• Deliver end-to-end fortnightly payroll and maintain accurate employee data
• Ensure all activities comply with RFDS policies, procedures, Awards and Enterprise Agreements
• Provide timely, accurate payroll advice to employees and leaders
• Support end-of-pay, month-end and year-end processes, including reconciliations
Reporting & Projects
• Produce regular and ad-hoc reports, including WGEA submission support
• Assist with annual remuneration increases
Compliance & Continuous Improvement
• Participate in internal payroll audits to ensure compliance and accuracy
• Identify process improvement opportunities and support systems optimisation
• Contribute to business planning, policy development and payroll process enhancement
  
Who we are looking for:
We’re seeking a versatile team member who enjoys contributing to a high-performing, supportive environment—while having fun along the way! With a positive, proactive approach, you will bring:

  • 1-3 years of experience similar role
  • Certificate level qualification
  • Ability to interpret organisational policies, procedures, industrial agreements and relevant legislation
  • A strong ability to meet deadlines and manage competing priorities
  • Demonstrated capability in report development
  • Experience with payroll systems and HRIS
  • Confident skills in Excel reporting
  • Strong communication, customer service and attention to detail
  • High level of accuracy in all tasks
