This is more than just a role - it’s a chance to be at the heart of the RFDS Digital & Technology team, coordinating day‑to‑day operations to ensure critical systems run seamlessly and staff have the tools they need to deliver care.
  
As Senior Systems Administrator, you will manage escalations from Service Delivery, maintain and optimise the health of core systems, and take ownership of the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of servers, networks, and enterprise solutions. Working under the direction of the ICT Infrastructure and Operations Lead, you will support operational activities, changes, and projects while also providing guidance, coaching, and mentorship to strengthen the wider team. Based in Brisbane, this permanent full‑time role offers the chance to contribute to meaningful projects, support a dedicated team, and play a pivotal part in ensuring the RFDS continues to deliver essential healthcare.
  
Who are we looking for?
To be successful in this senior role, you will bring:

  • The ability to mentor and support junior team members
  • Microsoft MCSA certification(s), or proven equivalent experience
  • Networking certifications or equivalent experience (HPE/Aruba preferred)
  • Extensive experience in ICT operations and enterprise support functions
  • Strong technical knowledge of hardware and software solutions
  • Deep expertise in Windows server environments and supporting technologies
  • Experience in Cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure or AWS
  • Experience with virtualisation (Hyper‑V, VMware or equivalent)
  • Proficiency with Active Directory, MS Exchange Server/Exchange Online, Office 365, and security solutions
  • Experience in deployments, scripting (PowerShell) and automation
  • Demonstrated incident management and problem‑solving skills
