Description

Are you a strategic and passionate fundraising professional ready to lead and grow donor acquisition campaigns that genuinely change lives?  Join the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) (Queensland Section) and help grow the vital support that keeps the Flying Doctor flying.

We’re looking for a Supporter Acquisition Manager to lead and deliver our multi-channel acquisition strategy, with a strong focus on regular giving (medium-sized program), single-gift campaigns, and supporter onboarding journeys.  This 14-month, full-time contract offers you the opportunity to take ownership of high-performing acquisition programs across face-to-face, digital, telephone, and direct mail - all while working with a passionate, purpose-driven team recognised as Fundraising Team of the Year in 2025.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead and execute regular giving and single-gift acquisition campaigns, with an annual goal of acquiring 8,000+ new donors.
  • Manage and grow a regular giving supporter base of over 22,000, with a focus on sustainable acquisition and retention strategies.
  • Manage external supplier and agency relationships across face-to-face, phone, mail, and digital channels, ensuring accountability, performance, and compliance.
  • Deliver training to agency partners (both in person and remotely), with occasional travel to city locations.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (digital, retention, philanthropy, data, supporter experience) to create a seamless and joyful supporter experience.
  • Monitor, report, and analyse campaign performance against KPIs and budget, providing insights and actionable recommendations.
What you’ll be able to demonstrate:
  • 5+ years’ experience in fundraising or donor/customer acquisition, ideally in the not-for-profit sector.
  • Proven success in managing multi-channel acquisition campaigns, especially face-to-face and digital.
  • Experience using CRM databases to drive data-informed decisions.
  • Strong project management and organisational skills, with the ability to meet deadlines and juggle priorities.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • A proactive, energetic, and collaborative approach – you’re a team player who drives results.
  • Hold or be willing to hold an MFIA with the Fundraising Institute of Australia (FIA) and comply with the FIA Code of Conduct.
Why work for us?

At the RFDS (Queensland Section), you’ll be driven by purpose - not just tasks. Whether you're in the sky, on the ground, or behind the scenes, your work directly contributes to delivering life-saving healthcare to people living, working, and travelling in rural, remote, and regional Queensland.

As we approach 100 years of providing the finest care in the furthest corners, we’re entering an exciting period of growth and innovation and we’re looking for passionate people to join us on that journey.

We value our people and offer a supportive, flexible, and high-performing environment where you can grow your career while making a genuine impact.

What you’ll enjoy:
  • Be part of an award-winning Fundraising & Philanthropy team recognised for best-practice, innovation, and a supporter-first approach.
  • Purpose-driven work where you make a real difference every day in Queensland communities.
  • Work-life balance with hybrid work options and free on-site parking when you're in the office.
  • Access to generous salary packaging benefits of up to $18,550 tax-free per year to boost your take-home pay.
  • Support for your wellbeing through our Employee Assistance Program - including counselling, nutrition, financial and legal advice.
  • Discounted access for you and your family to gyms and health centres through the Fitness Passport.
  • Private health insurance discounts to support your health and peace of mind.
  • Opportunities to learn, grow, and gain hands-on experience in a collaborative, high-performing team with industry-leading retention and acquisition programs.
