Description

The Training Officer supports the Technical Operations team for the Royal Flying Doctor Service (Queensland Section). Coordinating and monitoring compliance with all training requirements for Part 145 and Airworthiness Operations personnel. Additionally, this role is responsible for developing, maintaining, and managing technical manuals, procedures, and controlled documents to ensure effective day-to-day operations and ongoing maintenance activities.
 The Training Officer is a Permanent, Full-Time position based at the RFDS Cairns Base. Internally known as the Training Officer & Technical Writer.
  
Key responsibilities
As the Training Officer, you will:

  • Organise, plan and manage relevant education and training activities across the technical operations team
  • Conduct regular training needs analysis
  • Ensure the RFDS service delivery is compliant with legislative and regulatory requirements
  • Undertaking specialist projects and administration as required
  • Revise and maintain the RFDS Technical Operations Manuals and associated forms in accordance with RFDS quality management and document control processes and procedures
  • Liaise with the Technical Operations management team in publishing operational and compliance information to operational staff
  • Produce technical manual updates for documents, using various sources of engineering, regulatory and manufacturers’ data
Who we are looking for?
To be successful in this role you will possess the following:
  • At least 3 years of experience in a Workplace Trainer and/or Technical Writer position
  • Demonstrated experience in aviation or engineering environments
  • Comprehensive knowledge of innovative educational strategies, tools and approaches including e-learning
  • Proven ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment
  • Effective communication and coordination skills across technical, engineering, and operational teams.
  • High level of technical competency in data entry and quality control
