Description

The Royal Flying Doctor Service (Queensland Section) People Services team operates in a supportive team environment where effective communication and positivity thrives. We pride ourselves on being approachable, solutions-focused, and passionate about delivering a great employee experience.
  
We are seeking an enthusiastic, friendly, and highly organised People Services Officer to join our team. Your role will involve supporting our employee lifecycle processes and helping us deliver exceptional customer service in a unique environment that combines healthcare and aviation to save lives every day.
  
You'll be working as part of a team with People Advisors who are led by highly skilled Senior People Business Partners who specialise in supporting leaders to resolve people-related matters and deliver organisational outcomes.
  This role will see you supporting our people by:

  • Producing employment contracts, reports, and other workforce-related documentation supporting the employee lifecycle
  • Coordinating the employment changes and offboarding processes for employees
  • Coordinating the lifecycle of our non-employees
  • Updating and maintaining HR-related systems and files
  • Being our first port of call for people queries, responding in an appropriate and timely manner
  • Play a critical role in identifying opportunities for process improvement
  
We are also implementing a new payroll and HR Information System, and you will be a key part of the implementation of this project!
This role will begin on an initial 12-month contract.

Who are we looking for?

We are seeking someone with a high level of attention to detail, a strong willingness to learn, and a genuine interest in HR. You will bring fresh perspectives that help us continually strengthen our offering to the RFDS team, while also being a collaborative and cohesive team player. This role will suit someone who is not only eager to contribute ideas but is also happy to support with foundational work, recognising the importance of these tasks in building a strong HR function. In addition, you need to bring:
  • Human Resources or Business qualifications (or working towards), or equivalent experience
  • An exceptional customer service approach and a can-do attitude
  • Proven experience in a generalist Human Resources function
  • Ability to work productively while managing multiple competing priorities to meet allocated SLAs
  • Ability to interpret organisational policies, procedures, industrial agreements and relevant legislation
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Suite programs, including but not limited to Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, and OneNote
  • With strong attention to detail
