Description
The Royal Flying Doctor Service (Queensland Section) (RFDS) is seeking a Project Manager to join the Digital strategic program, to support with future growth and optimisation. This role will manage IT infrastructure and business application projects to support our clinical and remote work environments.
The Project Manager is a full-time position on a maximum term contract of 12 months based in Brisbane. Although the initial contract is for 12 months, the right team member may be able to support other strategic projects beyond this initial project.
Key Responsibilities
This role involves managing and executing projects to set up and implement new solutions and infrastructure. You will ensure successful project completion within the agreed cost, time, and quality parameters. As the Project Manager will:
- Be the key point of liaison between the project team, business management, and stakeholders
- Use project management tools to plan, monitor, and report to the stakeholders on the progress of the project
- Plan and oversee a project from the initial ideation stage through to the completion
- Identify and mitigate risks that may impact the successful delivery of the project
- Provide effective leadership to the project team and manage the scheduling of tasks and performance of resources seconded into the project
- There will also be a requirement to travel both within Queensland and interstate for this role
We are seeking a highly adaptable team player with a strong grasp of technical and application development knowledge to effectively contribute and manage projects to ensure successful delivery. In addition, you will have:
- Formal qualification in Computer Science, Information Technology, System Administration, or a closely related field
- 3-5 years experience in leading midsize projects
- Clinical systems related project experience (desirable)
- Experience with Project Management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, Scrum), Risk Management, Change Management and Financial Management
- Specialise working with Smartsheet, Jira and Microsoft project
- Certification as a Project Management Practitioner (desirable)
- ITIL Foundation Certifications (desirable)
- Technical acumen in digital and technology
- Highly engaging communication skills
- The ability to build and maintain effective stakeholder relationships
- Exceptional time management and problem-solving skills
- Strong change management skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects
- Demonstrated ability to build an engaged, collaborative, and committed project team

The Royal Flying Doctor Service is one of the world's largest and most comprehensive aeromedical organisations.
