Description

Join the Royal Flying Doctor Service (Queensland Section) in a key leadership position as we approach our 100-year anniversary, with exciting developments on the horizon for the Brisbane Base!
The Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) is seeking a Base Support Manager to oversee the efficient functioning of our base in Brisbane.  You will play a pivotal role in supporting the RFDS leadership team to deliver critical operational outcomes and promoting a positive, collaborative culture at the base, ensuring strategic goals are achieved.  As the Base Support Manager, you will be responsible for managing a range of activities including administrative support, human resource management, financial reporting, compliance, procurement, and stakeholder engagement.

Duties include:

  • Lead and mentor the Administration team, overseeing HR activities and encouraging professional development and growth whilst working with them to ensure administration tasks are fulfilled
  • Be a crucial member of the Base Leadership Team and collaborate with other operational teams across the organisation to align with RFDS values, promoting a unified, engaged, and motivated workforce
  • Ensure adherence to Workplace Health and Safety policies and provide leadership in maintaining security protocols, emergency plans, and compliance
  • Facility Management: Oversee the operations of facilities, ensuring compliance with required protocols for contractors and visitors. Manage security and related protocols for base buildings and the hangar
  • Contribute to the development and management of the base’s budget
  • Support public relations initiatives by representing RFDS at community events, fundraisers, and promotional activities
  • Collaborate with the base leadership team to ensure the Disaster Management Plan and Business Continuity Plan are regularly updated and activated as needed
  • Assist in facilitating the transition from our existing base to the new ‘Super Base – Aeromedical Precinct’

Who are we looking for?
Our team will thrive with your proven leadership, ability to build strong relationships, and commitment to fostering a culture of excellence, innovation, and high-quality service delivery.
  • 5-7 years of relevant experience in administrative management, project management or a similar role
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and time management skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and experience with advanced systems
  • Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience in collaboration with Executive, Senior Management and external partners
  • Ability to prioritise and make decisions to ensure operational outcomes
