About the Role
As the Regional Manager Metro, you will lead RFDS Vic’s aeromedical and ground patient transport services, guiding operations across several metropolitan sites. The role blends strategic oversight with practical leadership to maintain safe, efficient, and high‑quality service delivery. You’ll be responsible for compliance, budgeting, and performance outcomes, while also championing innovation, growth, and ongoing improvement. In partnership with the Director, you’ll build strong stakeholder relationships, support staff capability, and contribute meaningfully to our critical care services. This is a unique opportunity to lead a diverse portfolio that includes essential aeromedical operations and ground-based healthcare services, ensuring excellence in patient care across diverse environments.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Lead service delivery excellence by ensuring compliance with KPIs, clinical governance, regulatory standards, and continuous quality improvement.
- Lead, mentor, and manage operational leaders, and their frontline aviation & medical team.
- Drive strategic growth through research, business planning, tender management, and pursuit of new income streams and opportunities.
- Support organisational leadership by partnering with the Director to deliver strategic, operational, and change management initiatives.
- Enhance performance and capability via policy development, operational planning, budget management, and staff mentoring, succession planning, and people development.
- Foster stakeholder engagement by resolving complex client issues, building strong partnerships with regulators and external stakeholders.
To be successful, you will need:
- Tertiary qualification/s in Aviation, Health Administration, Nursing, Paramedicine or a related field with strong commercial and financial acumen.
- Minimum five years’ experience in operational or regional management, preferably within Aviation, health or community services sectors or within a relevant field.
- Comprehensive knowledge of aviation safety systems, regulatory frameworks and CASA processes.
- Demonstrated experience in compliant, safe, and efficient aviation operations management.
- Proven experience managing multidisciplinary teams across multiple locations
- Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing business development plans that align with strategic priorities.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and problem-solving skills.
- Satisfactory completion of safety screening including a current Driver’s Licence, National Police Check, and the right to work in Australia
