About Us

When people talk about the Flying Doctor, thoughts generally turn to red-bellied planes undertaking rescue missions in the Outback. However, the current Victorian story is one that reflects today's challenges for people living in remote and rural communities across the state. While we do still transport people by air and by road, this work is complemented by a range of primary health services that address the most common issues people living in country Victoria face when accessing health care.

About the role:

The Fundraising Acquisition & Renewal Lead plays a critical role in driving the growth and long‑term sustainability of RFDS Victoria’s Single and Regular Giving programs. This position provides strategic leadership and operational oversight of donor acquisition and renewal initiatives, ensuring alignment with organisational objectives and fundraising best practice.

Based within the Fundraising & Partnerships team, the role leads key campaigns, including the annual Matched Giving Day, and works collaboratively across internal and external stakeholders to deliver an innovative, data‑driven, and donor‑centric program. By mentoring a high‑performing team and optimising donor journeys, this position strengthens supporter engagement and maximises fundraising outcomes that directly support RFDS Victoria’s essential services.

- Project managing and co‑leading RFDS Victoria’s annual Matched Giving Day in collaboration with Fundraising and Partnerships teams.
- Managing and developing team members to deliver donor‑centric campaigns that attract and retain high‑value supporters.
- Working with Innovation & Enablement and Supporter Retention teams to enhance fundraising platforms, processes, and donor journeys.
- Partnering with Marketing & Communications to produce compelling fundraising content and ensure clear internal campaign communication.
- Managing budgets to achieve strong ROI and ensure effective resource allocation.
- Collaborating with Data & Insights teams to provide accurate reporting and analysis for senior leadership and governance.
- Building strong relationships with external agencies and suppliers to ensure program integrity, contract compliance, and high‑quality delivery.

Qualifications and experience required:

- Tertiary qualification in Fundraising, Marketing Communications, Business, or a related field.
- 5+ years’ leadership experience in team management, fundraising, marketing, or project management, ideally in the NFP sector.
- Proficient in CRM platforms, preferably Raiser’s Edge.
- Proven track record in acquisition and renewal campaigns, including multi‑year strategy delivery.
- Strong organisational skills with experience managing budgets, multitasking, and delivering projects in fast‑paced environments.
- Ability to use critical thinking, research, and data‑driven insights to identify opportunities, solve complex problems, and drive improvement.
- Strong financial acumen and strategic judgement to plan, monitor, and optimise resources for sustainable performance.
