Tom’s conversation with Paul about the Flying Doctor encouraged him to join you as part of our generous community. Tom signed up to support us with a regular gift, and we are so grateful!
Tom, who is originally from New Zealand has always been impressed by the distance we cover to help people. Tom loves living in Australia and wants to travel to the outback, so when Paul first approached Tom right away, he was interested in the breadth of our work.
It is conversations like this that really engage supporters, Paul says. You might remember having a similar conversation yourself. “When people hear about the organisation, the need, what they can do to help, they change their ideas about giving and realise, ‘wow!’”
As a fundraiser for us for several years, Paul really enjoys having genuine conversations about the difference our work makes in rural, regional and remote communities, and that’s how he first engaged with new supporter Tom.
Paul asked Tom what inspired him to sign up and give, and Tom said, “It’s a cool charity, and does cool things!”
“Not a week goes by without people coming up and sharing personal stories, expressing thanks, trying to give cash, food, in support of the Flying Doctor,” said Paul.
By giving a regular ongoing donation, you are ensuring the continued health and wellbeing of rural, regional and remote communities. It means you are making more reliable services and vital help possible.
If you see our fundraisers out and about, be sure to go and share your favourite story or even sign up to become a regular supporter today.
