Judy and Glenn give back to remote communities

When Glenn and Judy Campbell signed up to volunteer at the 2024 Mundi Mundi Bash, they really didn’t know what to expect.

They arrived not knowing anyone, and what they found was an incredibly warm and welcoming community. People who not only embraced them but also shared their love of the outback way of life and desire to support that.

“We were a bit shy at first, selling raffle tickets,” Judy admits, “but we got into the swing of it pretty quickly. The locals were just so welcoming, a vast difference to the city! By the third day, it felt like home.”

For Glenn and Judy, volunteering with the Flying Doctor is personal. When their grandson was born in Broken Hill, our Emergency Retrieval team flew him to Adelaide for life-saving care. Later, the service was there again for their great-grandson. “It’s a bit of a thank you,” Judy says. “A way to give back.”

After their incredible experience at Mundi Mundi, Glenn and Judy are already planning to be there again in 2025. “We’d never been before, but now we wouldn’t miss it,” Judy says.

Volunteers like Glenn and Judy are a vital part of our community. Their support and the time they give to help raise critical funds means that more families in the bush will have help when they need it most.

Thanks to Glenn and Judy for being part of this incredible community. If you would like to volunteer at one of our events, please reach out to our community fundraising senior coordinator Steve at: fundraise@rfdsse.org.au
