East Pilbara Telehealth Service
Royal Flying Doctor Service WA Telehealth Consultations are available for existing patients living in the East Pilbara region of Western Australia.
Operating between 9am – 4pm Monday and Friday, the telehealth consultations offer GP and nurse consultations, diagnostics and specialist referrals. This service is an extension of the existing RFDS WA face-to-face service in Nullagine, Marble Bar and Yandeyarra and aims to provide better ongoing support for our existing patients.

Almost 40,000 telehealth consultations are conducted each year in Western Australia. The vast distances in Australia mean that RFDS health staff are often required to provide health advice at a distance from patients.
Patients, their carer or family member, or remote area health professional who require medical advice from a distance, can call the RFDS for clinical advice, at no cost.
The RFDS health professional will conduct an assessment or provide treatment advice remotely and then monitor the situation to determine whether an aero-medical evacuation is required or whether the patient can be followed up at one of its remote clinics.
