Leave a Gift in your Will

Help the Flying Doctor in WA continue to save lives

Today, Gifts in Wills to the Flying Doctor are one of our greatest sources of funding. As we look to the future, the needs will continue to grow in both the services we provide and the way in which they are delivered. Whether large or small, every Gift is greatly valued because it will help us have a positive impact on someone's life and in doing so provide the greatest gift.

The generosity of our loyal supporters make it possible for us to bring medical care and attention to those who need it wherever they are. A Gift in your Will to the Flying Doctor in WA will help us continue to grow and innovate to benefit all who live, work and travel across WA.

Through your generous Gift, you will be welcomed as a member of the Robin Miller Society and share a unique bond with those who stand beside you in making a difference.

Robin Miller

Robin Miller was a lauded WA pilot and nurse who gave her life to the service of others and believed that anyone, no matter where they lived, should have access to essential healthcare.

Robin travelled far and wide across the northern regions of WA to bring modern medicine to regional and remote communities and was named the 'Sugarbird Lady' by outback Aboriginal children during her work combating polio.

She made 450 visits to remote towns and communities, flew more than 43,000 miles (69,200kms) to administer more than 37,000 polio vaccine doses on sugar cubes.

Her legacy lives on in the health programs that continue to be delivered by the Flying Doctor in regional WA today and a replica of her aircraft 'The Sugarbird Lady' stands in front of the RFDS Jandakot base as a proud memorial.

As always, the Flying Doctor is response ready 24 hours a day for health emergencies across Western Australia – which is the largest health jurisdiction in the world!

Our doctors, nurses, pilots and all the Flying Doctor team pride ourselves on providing the finest care – no matter where in WA.

Each of our aircraft are ‘intensive care units’ in the sky and each day we provide life-saving care, transfer patients between hospitals, deliver supplies and medical chests to isolated communities, conduct telehealth consultations, host free GP clinics and dental services and provide primary healthcare in Aboriginal communities across the regions.

Your generosity and planning really does make a difference to our aeromedical charity, enabling us to innovate and grow to benefit all who live, work and travel across our great state.
