When lives are on the line in remote NT, preparation and teamwork are everything.
Twice yearly, the Royal Flying Doctor Service SA/NT and the Medical Retrieval and Consultation Centre (MRaCC) host the Central Australian Retrieval Training course (CART) - a joint training program designed to strengthen emergency response in some of the most challenging environments in the country.
By training together, RFDS and MRaCC teams build shared skills, clear communication, and mutual trust.
The course focuses on real-world scenarios, ensuring retrieval teams can work seamlessly under pressure when responding to critically unwell patients far from major hospitals.
This collaboration highlights the power of shared learning and coordinated care, helping ensure that when emergencies happen in remote communities, highly trained teams are ready to respond - together.
Watch the video to see how collaboration and training help retrieval teams deliver the best possible care, wherever it’s needed.
