Time and again, Paul, a Flying Doctor pilot for many years and a Broken Hill local, has witnessed how your support saves lives in the community.
“To drive from Broken Hill to Louth would take about five and a half hours. It took us 50 minutes to fly here this morning so it’s huge in terms of efficiency. You help doctors and clinicians get to these places within an hour of leaving town,” Paul said at a recent clinic day in Louth.
Your support ensures our pilots can deliver doctors, nurses and other healthcare clinicians to remote community clinics to provide a full day of care to families.
In a medical emergency, the impact is immediate. Paul has seen the relief firsthand. “When the plane comes over the top… men with tears running down their faces. They’re so overwhelmed by the fact that they’ve now got access to a doctor,” Paul described.
Paul is passionate about families living, working and travelling in rural, regional and remote communities having access to good healthcare, just like people in the cities, and he is so thankful to supporters like you.
