Team Leader Primary Health

The Royal Flying Doctor Service of Australia South Eastern Section provides comprehensive health services to rural and remote communities in far west NSW, SA and QLD.

As part of our ongoing commitment to the people of our network to provide health care to the highest standard possible, we are expanding our allied health team to include the position of Team Leader Primary Health. This role will be a member of the Health Leadership Team in our ongoing strive to ensure that the Royal Flying Doctor Service continues to develop and evolve the service model to ensure we meet the needs of our patients by delivering the best care

This exciting new role will be based in Broken Hill, its key role is to direct, coordinate and supervise nursing and midwifery activities within the Primary Health Nurse Team. The role will also be responsible for leading and managing the Mental Health and Community Engagement teams who are fundamental to our multi-faceted Health Care organisation.

This role will give the successful applicant the opportunity to maintain hands on Primary Health Care skills while demonstrating management skills to lead direct and coordinate the provision of high quality clinical nursing and primary care services across the south eastern section.

Do you have the following essential experience/education

• Bachelor of Nursing
• Relevant registration with AHPRA.
• Postgraduate certificates in Primary Care, chronic disease management, and/or paediatric nursing including immunisation endorsement.
• Healthcare Management Qualifications

Are you able to demonstrate the following competencies

• Established Management experience or proven leadership qualities and the ability to work in a multidisciplinary environment.
• Self-motivated with organisational, time management and confident decision making abilities.
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Demonstrated ability to work independently, without supervision
• Ability to prioritise workload and meet set times lines
• Sound computer literacy (Microsoft Office Suite)
• Advanced level of clinical problem-solving skills
