The Royal Flying Doctor Service of Australia (RFDS) is one of the largest and most comprehensive aeromedical organisations in the world. Using the latest in aviation, medical and communications technology, we deliver extensive health care and 24-hour emergency service to those who live in and travel through remote, rural and regional Australia.
This role is based at the Sydney Airport in our Waterloo Office in Sydney and is a maximum term contract for 18-24 months.
The purpose of this role is to primarily project manage the significant transition from the current engineering application platform and its core function in managing the airworthiness and engineering functions to a new platform that provides a more intuitive interface that can properly and efficiently manage the operation and maintenance of our aircraft and spare parts inventory.
This role will contribute to the successful operational and project delivery of the Aviation Management Group and will require regular travel to our geographically dispersed Bases.
Position Responsibilities include
* Successful implementation of the application would include the development of a detailed implementation plan including timelines and dashboards to measure and benchmark key processes and milestones
* Provision of continuous risk monitoring, maintaining of good internal and external communication as well as provision of appropriate reporting.
* Identification, analysis and preparation of risk mitigation options
* Management of the implementation of various Aviation Software Solutions within Engineering, Airworthiness, Logistics, Quality & Safety, Flight Operations, Health and People & Culture.
* Development of and leading workshops for all impacted staff to ensure that staff are fully equipped with the knowledge required in readiness for cutover
* Management of budget spend in all aspects of the project

The Ideal Candidate Will Meet the Following Criteria
* Tertiary qualifications in project management and/or change management
* Experience using cloud services and work within cloud environment
* Experienced in use and/or implementation of engineering/asset management applications
* Working knowledge of some MRO applications/programs is highly desirable
* Experience in management of various aviation software solutions within different departments (Engineering, Logistics, Flight Operations, Quality, Health, People and Culture).
* Aircraft management, lease hand back management experience
