Patient Transport Support Officer


The Royal Flying Doctor Service of Australia (RFDS) is one of the largest and most comprehensive aeromedical organisations in the world. Using the latest in aviation, medical and communications technology, we deliver extensive health care and 24-hour emergency service to those who live in and travel through remote, rural and regional Australia.

We are seeking applications from service-oriented team players to join our Patient Transport Support team in the position of Patient Transport Support Officers in Dubbo & Orange.

As a Patient Transport Support Officer you will drive a specially fitted out long-wheel based Mercedes Sprinter Patient Transfer vehicle, and will work with nurses, doctors, pilots and other staff to safely and professionally transport patients between rural health service providers and airports. You must have a caring, flexible and team oriented approach to your work, and be comfortable with current computer technology including the use of smart phones, GPS and map tracking systems, MS Outlook and Ipad use.

Employment will be on a casual basis. In return, the RFDS offers exceptional professional satisfaction, a positive team culture and above award conditions, including a weekly retention allowance. Applicants will be provided with full training.

• Class C Drivers Licence, front and back;
• RMS Drivers Licence record that is less than 1 month old;
• Working With Children Check;
• Basic First Aid Certificate (highly regarded);
• Certificate III in Non Emergency Client Transport (highly regarded);
• Names of two current referees.

Applicants must be willing to undergo:
• A criminal record check;
• A pre-employment medical that will assess your physical capability to support the loading and unloading of patients into vehicles, and changing a tyre; and
• Be willing to gain an Aviation Security Identification Card.
